BEND BACK TO THE FUTURE
Back bends aren’t supposed to be difficult or painful. In small doses toward deeper postures Eddie Teboul is gently comforting us to build a pyramid toward a comfortable inner revolution.
One of the deepest lessons in the yoga practice is about bringing the energy up the spine and cleansing the nervous system. Backbends thrust your full life force up through this central channel and burn through blockages along the way. When one of these blockages gets triggered it really does not matter whether you are doing a deep backbend or a beginner backbend because the emotional state that gets triggered is really of paramount importance. When things are difficult, scary and emotional it is hard to remain calm, breathe and think clearly. This is where the guidance of an experienced teacher is crucial. They can support your process, direct your body with sound instruction and finally give the process back over to you when you’re ready.
Backbends are important and useful when it comes to maintaining health, youth, and longevity of your body. No matter how you feel, you should backbend every day– if possible. The longer you wait to do it, the harder it will be. But of course, because this is yoga and we try to honor our abilities and energy, it’s never too late to start!
Backbends are beneficial for much of your body including your respiratory system, digestion, kidneys, circulation, and heart. During a backbend your heart receives a stretch, and this increases its efficiency in pumping blood. Your diaphragm will receive slight pressure and oxygen rich blood will rush to the area. In other words, this will catalyze healing. Nothing will keep your body youthful quite like flexibility. Your back takes up a significant part of your body, and is therefore worth working on.

YOGA from MARS is FAR OUT and to go this far quickly we can sit still in our inner spaceship, but first we need to rest the spine and learn the ultimate upright comfortable sitting position to be completely free of physical tensions.
Relaxing Restorative Yoga prepares the body and mind to restore the natural pace of heart beat, nervous system, bones and joints alignment, so we are easily upright when sitting in meditation.
Meditation is our personal switch off to restore what sleep or distractions can’t. People who meditate daily and especially in a large group of other people, are expected to live longer healthy lives and beat the damage of physical and mental aging often pronounced by stress and anxiety. Over regular upright seated position to meditate, the experience becomes addictive like a youth serum making us more attractive and grounded in our confidence.
